Q: When did you start breeding, or how long have you been breeding?
A: 1987 i bought my first shih tzu for my oldest daughter Trisha when she was a 1 year old. my family has bred dogs all my life . my grandmother bred papillons , my father German shepards.

Q: What are the special traits of Shih Tzu?
A: there are so many. my favorite is their temperment WHEN BRED WELL.. they are sweet, love kids, SO SMART.

Q: Where are your puppies raised?
A: i help deliver every baby they are born in my bedroom and will stay with me for the first week to make sure mommy doesnt roll on them. we have added a doggie studio to our home just for them. play area, grooming station. training area.

Q: Tell us about your breeding goals.
A: our first shih tzu was a store dog...i was very lucky that i found a breeder to help me, he had been raising shih tzu for 40+ years and had pedigrees way back to 1947. i would love to have my daughters take over this line once i retire.

Q: What other dog breeds have you bred?
A: this is it ONLY SHIH TZU i know this breed inside and out since 1987 and im still learning

Q: Have the parents of your puppies both been tested free of genetic defects?
A: YES even tho you can never gaurentee 110% im very picky on what stays in the program

Q: What are the health issues that might appear in Shih Tzu?
A: most common are eyes, watery, hernias of the eye. itchy skin. if the dog is bred well you will have less issues.

Q: What are the best match owners for Shih Tzu?
A: everyone.

Q: Tell us about success stories your dogs had in the show ring.
A: pebbles my first was STUCKUP..everytime the judge would come to touch her she would tilt to the side like as if to say UMMM DONT TOUCH MY HAIR... one time the judge actualy said hello little girl whats wrong dont you want anyone to touch all this lovely hair and pebble threw her head up and back like as if to say YES AND THAT INCLUDES YOU TOO...everyone laughted my poor daughter who was handling her turned BEAT RED.. it was so funny, not for trisha but we all had a great laugh how peebles was so stuckup!!

Q: Any tips or advice for a new owner?
A: shop around, ask questions, find a breeder that will be there for the stupid little things like grooming and training as well and the IMPORATANT things like health... all the customers threw the years keep in touch pictures, questions we even baby sit so they don't have to board in a kennel. we are a big shihtzu family
